Karen has over 20 years of experience in public practice and has overseen audit and review engagements for small and large profit and not-for-profit organizations in virtually all industries.  She specializes and can provide clients with a significant depth of expertise in the areas of assurance, financial reporting and advisory services. Karen is the assigned partner for all the firm’s insurance audits and has over 15 years of experience in this area.

Karen is committed to exceeding client expectations.  It is her goal to ensure every client receives outstanding service which has led to her ability to build and maintain successful long term client relationships.  She is able to provide her clients with the practical advice and solutions they need.  

Karen was born and raised in Edmonton.  She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1997 with a Bachelor of Commerce and received her CA designation in 2000. She became a partner in 2007. 

Karen is currently the treasurer for the Nellie Carlson Fundraising Association and BPW Edmonton. She also served two terms as a member of the registration committee for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. 

When she’s not at KBH, Karen enjoys running, downhill skiing, golfing and spending time with her husband, son and daughter.
