Are you a dedicated and experienced CPA professional looking to take the next step in your career? KBH, a leading CPA firm in Alberta, is seeking a Senior Manager to join our team. We are currently looking for a permanent full-time Senior Manager, Accounting and Assurance for our Edmonton office.
Reporting to the Partner group, the Senior Manager is responsible for the ongoing management of various types and sizes of engagements and is involved in firm management through specialty leadership projects. The Senior Manager enables Partners to be more effective in their roles, by assuming added technical responsibilities wherever possible.
The Senior Manager will provide guidance, support and leadership to staff, and plays a crucial role in their professional development.
Role and Responsibilities:
In this leadership role, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, guide a talented team, and collaborate closely with partners to drive growth and excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and mentoring staff on an ongoing basis
- Reviewing Compilations, Review and Audit Engagements
- Providing professional advice and support to clients to assist them with their requirements
- Reviewing corporate and personal tax returns, while providing our clients with beneficial tax strategies and solutions
- Collaborating with the management team to assist in staff development, identify issues, potential solutions and making recommendations
- Maintaining a good understanding of accounting software
- Providing technical support to team members on various programs
- Being a part of or leading firm related initiatives and/or projects
Qualifications:
We’re looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with outstanding people skills:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
- 5+ years of experience post-designation
- 8+ years of experience in public practice
- Exceptional managerial and leadership skills, with the ability to assist staff with career development
- Maintains and enhances leadership development skills
- Maintains and grows technical expertise within the firm
- Experience in training staff on a one-on-one basis, or in a classroom setting on technical-related work
